The Admissions process
Following your enquiry, we will invite you to register a place. Due to demand for places, it's recommended that you register a place as soon as possible. This is done by returning the registration form, see below to download the form, with a non-refundable registration fee of £70.
Upon return of the registration form and fee we will invite you to undertake a personal tour of the school.
Prior to an offer being made, prospective parents and their child are invited to meet with the Headteacher or a member of the school’s Senior Management Team. Alternative arrangements may be made for non UK residents applicants.
Entry into Nursery and Reception: We feel that formally assessing such young children is not always constructive, and therefore make no formal assessment before offering a place.
Entry into Years 1 - 8: If relevant, we invite the prospective pupil for an ‘Experience Session’ where they join their current year group for a few hours. Although Hendon Preparatory School is academically non-selective, we do assess children from Year 3 for their verbal and non-verbal reasoning skills. Younger pupils do some reading and simple writing exercises, or are observed through age-appropriate activities.
