The HPPA (Hendon Prep Parents Association) is the school's parents' association. Every parent is automatically a member of the HPPA and is welcome (and encouraged) to become involved in its activities.
We are purely a social group and do not involve ourselves in the running of the school in any way - this is our one golden rule!
With the help of an active HPPA committee, enthusiastic class reps and lots of parent volunteers, the HPPA organises the Summer and Winter school fairs, as well as other events (such as the Halloween party and International Day). We also organise a number of parent-only evenings, including the annual supper quiz, bowling evenings etc. Importantly, the HPPA also raises money for charities from many of these events, helping the children to help others in need.
The HPPA is a great way to meet other parents. The school is justifiably proud of its 'family' ethos and the HPPA reflects this spirit, bringing together parents from throughout the school in a social and friendly group.
We need as many parents as possible to volunteer to help out with our events. They involve a lot of work and we have enough parents in the school to make sure that this work is properly shared. The events are for all of our kids and I hope you will offer your help and support in any way you can. If you want to know what you can to do to help, either ask one of the Committee Members when you next see them in the playground or email our Chairman - timandsuzytaylor@gmail.com.
With regard to letting you know everything that the HPPA is doing, we now have an HPPA Facebook page. This is a 'closed group' for parents only and you will need to request admission. Please email stephen_bonar@hotmail.com and Steve will give you access to the page. We will also continue to let you know what is going on through the weekly school newsletter and on this webpage.
