Pastoral care
At Hendon Prep we take pastoral care very seriously and have systems to ensure that all children feel cared for and a part of the school community.
We are a small school who foster the 'family' feeling. We respect and foster positive feelings amongst the children for themselves and their backgrounds.
We believe in rewarding good behaviour as well as good work. The reward system fosters not only personal achievements but allows pupils to add towards the House competition for the House Cup awarded annually.
If a pupil has a problem at school or at home it is vital that we are informed about the circumstances as quickly as possible so that the school can offer the correct support and help to the pupil and their family. If there is a problem, we encourage parents to inform the class teacher in the first instance so that they can disseminate necessary information to the relevant staff.
If it is thought advisable the Head of Pastoral Care, Mrs Heywood, will meet with parents to discuss and remedy the situation. If necessary she will inform the Head teacher and a meeting can be set up to discuss the issues. By working together as a partnership we can ensure that your child has a happy and enriching experience during their time at Hendon Preparatory School.
