Year 4

Overview

The main focus of Year 4 is preparing the children for the big changes that take place in Year 5; with specialist teaching and more movement around the school. This is their final year of form class teaching and teachers encourage the children to become more independent and organised in thought and in work.

The 'Years 3 and 4 production' is in the spring term, in which all children will have an opportunity to participate on stage. At the end of the autumn and spring term, small assessments are used to assess the children's' progress. These are in-house tests and are used by the teacher to monitor learning.

Exams are done in the summer term, and they cover the year's work.
