Hendon Prep is a small independent Day School and Preschool in north London for girls and boys aged 3–11, recognised by the Independent Schools Inspectorate as 'Excellent in all areas'.

EXCELLENT in all areas
Independent Schools Inspectorate
We are delighted to announce that following our ISI Inspection in January we have achieved ‘excellent in all areas’.
A double “excellent” is the highest possible outcome for a school during an Educational Quality Inspection.
We are so proud of what the inspectors said about our school and in particular that they recognised:
“The school meets its aim to stretch and challenge pupils to achieve the best they can as individual learners”.
FACILITIES & LOCATION
Situated in the leafy north London suburb of Hendon
The school provides a fantastic range of facilities to enhance pupils’ learning and experience. We have bright and well-resourced classrooms, complete with an ICT suite, dedicated Art and Design studio, music room, library and a fully equipped science laboratory.
A large playground and outside classroom give pupils much needed space for play and outdoor learning. With a planting area, amphitheatre, Astroturf football and netball pitch and giant chess board, playtimes are full of fun at Hendon Prep.
Besides using the wonderful playground for sports and PE lessons, the school also makes use of fabulous local facilities such as Poolside Manor Swimming Pool and Power League.

FINALIST 2025
We are delighted to have been named a Finalist for “Best Use of Education Technology” at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2025! This recognition reflects of our innovative use of educational technology. EdTech is embedded in every aspect of learning — from AI-powered platforms and wellbeing tools to online safety and inclusion initiatives — empowering pupils to think critically, lead with courage, and shape technology with purpose.
Finalist 2024
We're thrilled to announce that Hendon Prep has been named a Finalist in the Muddy's Best School Awards 2024 for Best Experiential Learning! Judges were impressed by our innovative teaching methods and engaging learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. This award is a testament to our Enrichment Afternoon initiative, reflecting the dedication of our teaching team and students who collaboratively developed it to enhance our dynamic and inclusive curriculum.
