Prep School Admissions
Thank you for your interest in our school. As a result of the current coronavirus crisis, we have had to adapt our Admissions process slightly but we are confident that we are still able to provide parents with the information and reassurance they need to be able to plan for their child’s educational future.
We are delighted that we are now able to offer socially distanced visits to our school, please contact our Admissions Team to find out more.
Hendon Prep is an Independent School for boys and girls from 3 to 11.
Children can join Hendon Prep in our Preschool at the start of the term in which they turn 3. Our Preschool children are guaranteed one of our sought after Reception places however we do also have a small intake of pupils at Reception who have not attended our Preschool.
The admissions process for entry into the Hendon Prep Preschool or Reception class is as follows:
The offer of a place
- Preschool place: Following Registration, depending on your child’s age, we will either invite you and your child to an informal assessment or to an Admissions Meeting with a member of the Senior Leadership Team, where the offer of a place will be discussed.
- Reception place: Following Registration your child will be invited into school in Autumn term prior to their year of entry for an informal assessment. This assessment will be followed by an Admissions Meeting with a member of the Senior Leadership Team, where the offer of a place will be discussed.
Once we have received your completed Acceptance Form and relevant deposits; we will then forward confirmation of your child’s place in the school.
From time to time we do have places become available throughout the year from Reception – Year 6. Should you wish your child to be considered for one of these places we would ask that you visit the school and register your child with us through one of the options listed above.
Following Registration we would ask for copies of your child’s latest school reports and arrange for them to sit an age appropriate assessment in Maths and English.
Please note that in ALL cases assessments, and subsequent offers are booked and made in order of application.
Early Years’ funding available from September 2020
We are delighted to announce that Early Years’ funding is now available to all 3 and 4 year olds at Hendon Prep*.
This government funding, often referred to as ’15 hours free funding’, is available to every child from the term after they turn 3 until the end of the term in which they turn 5 and, in an independent school setting, equates to a saving of approximately £880 per term for parents. Please contact our Admissions Team directly to find out more.
*Terms & conditions apply.
