Prep School Admissions

Thank you for your interest in our school. As a result of the current coronavirus crisis, we are changing the way we are working to provide parents with the peace of mind that they can still plan for their child’s educational future through our Virtual Admissions Process. You can still contact the team using the information below.

Hendon Prep is an Independent School for boys and girls from 3 to 11.

Children can join Hendon Prep in our Pre-School at the start of the term in which they turn 3. Our Pre-School children are guaranteed one of our sought after Reception places however we do also have a small intake of pupils at Reception who have not attended our Pre-School.

The admissions process for entry into the Hendon Prep Pre-School or Reception class is as follows:

Admissions Process

Step One

Visit us

Step Two

Register your child

Register your child with us by completing this Hendon Prep Registration Form and returning it to our Admissions Team  along with a, non-refundable, £80 Registration fee.

Step Three

The offer of a place

  • Pre-School place: Following Registration your child will be invited for a Taster Session which will be followed by an Admissions Meeting with a member of the Senior Leadership Team, where the offer of a place will be discussed.
  • Reception place:  Following Registration your child will be invited into school in Autumn term prior to their year of entry for an informal assessment. This assessment will be followed by an Admissions Meeting with a member of the Senior Leadership Team, where the offer of a place will be discussed.

Step Four

Once we have received your completed Acceptance Form and relevant deposits; we will then forward confirmation of your child’s place in the school.

Chance Vacancies

From time to time we do have places become available in Year 1 – Year 6.  Should you wish your child to be considered for one of these places we would ask that you visit the school and register your child with us through one of the options listed above.

Your child will then be invited to attend a ‘taster session’, giving them a chance to meet their future classmates and also take an assessment in Maths and English.

After the taster session both you and your child will meet with a member of the Senior Leadership Team where the offer of a place will be discussed.

Please note that in ALL cases assessments, taster days and subsequent offers are booked and made in order of application.

Early Years’ funding available from September 2020

This government funding often referred to as ’15 hours free funding’, is available to every child from the term after they turn 3 until the end of the term in which they turn 5 and, in an independent school setting, equates to a saving of approximately £700 per term for parents. Please contact our Admissions Team directly to find out more.

*Terms & conditions apply.
