Our aim at Hendon Prep is to create an environment in which pupils feel safe, happy, secure and valued. The intention of our pastoral care is to prevent problems, both personal and academic, from arising. The close links which we have with our parents are essential to achieving these aims.
Every child has a form tutor who looks after their welfare and is a first point of contact with parents. Pastoral care is further enhanced at Hendon Prep by our school house system. From Reception onwards pupils are placed in one of four houses, this helps every child to feel valued and part of a tight-knit community. The house system also gives children opportunities to be rewarded for positive behaviour as well as for effort and attainment.
Our recent SIS Inspection report acknowledged the quality of care for our children’s well-being stating that we have created a ‘harmonious and achieving ethos, where pupils feel well cared for and enjoy their education’ and that ‘relationships between pupils and teachers are excellent’.
